Storytime at the Library
Well, yesterday we had our first ever snow day with no snow! The school system cancelled school because snow was in the forecast, but it never came. This did however, give me the chance to spend another day with Peyton and take him to storytime at the library with "Aunt" Tracey and the kids.
Peyton loves to listen to stories and I've been wanting to take him, but it's always when I'm at work, so this "snow day" worked out great! When we first got there, there were toys set out for the children to play with, so I let Peyton crawl around on the floor and play. When it was time for story time, the librarian came out and started singing a clean up song and everyone helped clean up. She then led the children/parents in several songs.
After the songs, she read the story. Peyton sat on my lap and listened with very little wiggling! After the story the librarian passed out puppets of the characters so that the children could help her retell/act-out the story as she read it again. The first time Peyton was the goat and the second time he was the chicken (We actually stayed for both the 9:30 and 10:30 story times.)! After story time Peyton played and crawled around on the floor some more.
We even checked out two library books and 3 Baby Einstein DVDs. It was great getting to go to story time with "Aunt" Tracey and the kids and I really hope we get to go again soon!

Peyton and DJ
Standing and Cruising
He also likes to stand up in his crib. When he first learned how to do that, he would immediately stand up when we put him down for bed! It was not a fun battle to fight! I am proud to announce, however, that Patrick and I won, and most of the time he will go down without standing up and screaming! :-)

Bath Time!
Peyton loves bath time! If he hears the water running in the bathroom, he crawls right in there and tries to pull himself up on the tub! As soon as you put him in the water he starts splashing away. Patrick and I have figured out that we have to keep towels handy because the floor almost always gets soaked! Peyton got bath toys for Christmas which he likes to play with, but he's just as happy playing with the wash cloth!
